Overview
Birch, like ash, is another hardwood and a good firewood to burn, especially if you want quick heat.
Birch bark makes an excellent firelighter because it is papery and gives off a unique, slightly sweet smell that most people find pleasant. Thanks to its silvery, flaky bark, birch is perfect if your logs are on display. We recommend birch if you light occasional fires and want fast, high heat.
It is excellent when burnt together with other slower-burning logs.
