Overview
|
Denmark’s national tree, the beech (Fagus), grows slowly but reaches enormous heights once mature.
At the ripe old age of 400, some beeches can grow over 38 m tall and 1.5 m across! Beech is a leader in heat output, with around 3,000 kilowatt-hours per cubic metre of solid wood.
The hottest-burning wood!
Burns hotter than ash and birch.
